The Stihl MS 462 C-M is a 72.2cc 2-stroke professional chainsaw with M-Tronic electronic fuel management. Despite lower displacement than the MS 461, the MS 462 C-M is lighter and achieves comparable cutting performance through precise electronic fuel delivery. It accepts 20" to 32" guide bars. M-Tronic eliminates manual carburetor adjustment — a significant advantage for crews traversing elevation changes. Maintenance centers on fuel filter cleanliness rather than traditional carb needle adjustment. The modern successor to the MS 461 for production loggers prioritizing weight and efficiency.
