The Briggs & Stratton 500e is a 140cc <!-- verify: briggsandstratton.com --> 4-stroke overhead-valve engine used in mid-range consumer push mowers from Craftsman, Troy-Bilt, and Husqvarna. It builds on the 450e platform with ReadyStart primer-free starting and slightly larger displacement for improved torque in taller, thicker grass. It uses a Walbro or Nikki carburetor <!-- verify: briggsandstratton.com --> and a Champion RC12YC spark plug. Annual maintenance: oil change (SAE 30 or 10W-30), air filter replacement, and spark plug inspection.
